Paediatric Tuina Hands-On Workshop

Looking for ways to help your kids alleviate common childhood ailments, but concerned over oral medication or acupuncture needling pains? Consider an all-natural, safe, gentle and non-invasive approach using Paediatric Tuina massage therapy. Better still, learn the techniques and apply on your child at home!

While children are often quick to contract diseases, they also respond well to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments. Paediatric Tuina is a form of external TCM therapy which stimulates specific acupuncture points or areas to manage and prevent common ailments in children. In the recent years, Paediatric Tuina has gained popularity especially among young parents due to its effectiveness and safe application. Besides its therapeutic effects, Paediatric tuina also encourages parent-child bonding and improves a child’s emotional well-being.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture points on the body surfaces are connected to the inner organs through meridians. Paediatric Tuina works by stimulating specific acupoints or areas using appropriate manipulation techniques, which are quick, light and gentle, so as to regulate the organ functions, manage and/or prevent diseases in children.

Through the course you will learn about essential acupressure points and paediatric massage techniques which are simple and effective in:

  • Promoting growth and development
  • Improving quality of sleep
  • Improving blood circulation
  • Managing common diseases including common flu, fever, cough and asthma

Course duration: 2 x 90 minutes theory and practical sessions (Session 1: Theory; Session 2: Practical)

Language: English

Nil. Anyone interested in Paediatric Tuina are welcome to join in. However, we would recommend this workshop for parents with child aged 6 months to 6 years old, as children of this age group will benefit more from Paediatric Tuina.
