About the Speaker: Professor Zhang HuiYong

Professor Zhang HuiYong is a Chief Physician of the Pulmonary Department in Longhua Hospital (affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) and a mentor to the PhD students. Professor Zhang was under the tutelage of China’s famous Physician Shao ChangRong. He holds multiple positions such as Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Pulmonary Diseases branch), Secretary to the National Association of Integrative Medicine (Respiratory Diseases) Professional Committee etc. Professor Zhang HuiYong also served as an assessment expert at the “National Essential Drugs Directory”and the State Food and Drug Administration for the review of new drugs.

For more than 30 years, Professor Zhang is engaged in the prevention and treatment of both acute and chronic respiratory diseases, as well as the clinical standardization of Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a result, he accumulated a wealth of clinical experience and formed his unique academic point of view. He has especially developed insight in the prevention and cure for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Bronchial Asthma, Lung Cancer and lung infection. In the recent years, he has accepted numerous major scientific research projects on the national, provincial and ministerial levels.
