TCM HERBAL DRINK AND SOUP WORKSHOP 2016-2017

This bi-annual 2-day workshop was customized for Secondary 2 students of Chung Cheng High School (Yishun). The workshop aims to equip the students with basic concepts of TCM as well as the knowledge on the functions and preparation methods of common Chinese herbs. This programme also discusses the different natures of foods and how they should be consumed selectively for various body constitutions and illnesses. Besides theory classes, the students had the opportunity to brew Chinese herbal drinks and soups to gain a better understanding in TCM Dietary Therapy. There were many hands-on activities during the workshop where students can learn TCM in a fun and enriching manner.

Another highlight of the TCM workshop is a field trip to the Eu Yan Sang Retail store and Eu Yan Sang TCM Clinic, to further enhance the students’ appreciation and impression of TCM and Chinese herbs. The students not only get to observe the various TCM treatment methodologies at Eu Yan Sang TCM Clinic, they are also able to have an understanding of TCM in clinical setting. At Eu Yan Sang Retail store, the students were able to visit the Bird Nest gallery as well as learn and identify some of the raw herbs available at the store.
